2023 Farmers Insurance Open

Max Homa started the final round of the Farmers Insurance Open five shots back of Sam Ryder. With 16 holes to go, Homa trailed by six.

However, two brilliant shots into the back-nine par 3s that resulted in birdies capped a stellar final round that saw Homa shoot 6-under 66 to win at Torrey Pines for his sixth PGA Tour victory. It’s Homa’s second victory of the 2022-23 Tour season, including his win at the Fortinet Championship in September, and his fourth triumph in the state of California.

It’s the fifth time Homa has trailed entering the final round and ended up winning. He finished at 13 under, two strokes ahead of Keegan Bradley and three in front of Collin Morikawa.

2022 Farmers Insurance Open

Luke List, in his 207th PGA Tour start, won for the first time in dramatic fashion as he defeated Will Zalatoris on the first playoff hole Saturday in the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines. The 37-year-old, who polished off his stellar 6-under-par 66 nearly two hours before the last group finished, knocked his third shot on the par-5 18th on the South Course to less than a foot for a career-changing tap-in.

Zalatoris, tied for the lead entering the final round, had an 8-footer on the final hole in regulation to win but missed by a hair. His chance to extend the playoff from 13 feet was just left of the cup. List and Zalatoris (who shot 71) finished regulation at 15 under.

2021 US Open

Jon Rahm won the 2021 US Open championship at Torrey Pines. Both the 2008 and 2021 US Opens at Torrey Pines had exciting with memorable finishes.  Torrey Pines was a fair test for the best in the world and both Opens resulted in the #1 player in the world being crowned as champions.

Due to COVID, most club members who planned to volunteer for the US Open were not needed.  A few of our members were retained as volunteers and here are some of their photos.
