Charities
Each year the Torrey Pines Men's Golf Club members have reached out to those charities and organizations that support the development as well as the future growth of golf. Normally, a donation is directed to support the organization scholarship fund. During the last few years the TPMGC Board has targeted the following organizations.
  • Pro Kids (The first Tee of San Diego)
The Pro Kids organization provides the opportunity for San Diego inner-city youth to access free golf and life-skills instruction, participate in their Learning Center classes and receive college scholarships all from one organization in their neighborhood, City Heights.

  • San Diego Junior Golf Association (SDJGA)
SDJGA has been active in the San Diego community since 1952. Through the game of golf the mission of SDJGA is to provide an environment to develop sportsmanship, discipline and integrity. The organization effort to provide an environment for all junior golf members that support self discipline, which includes developing the social skills is well documented and has the full support of the San Diego golf community.

  • Trans-Mississippi Golf Association
The Trans-Mississippi Golf Association was established in 1901. Currently, the Trans-Miss is composed of over 200 member clubs located throughout the country. The mission of Trans-Miss is to promote and advance the true spirit of amateur golf and to cultivate and promote the organization Turf Scholarship Fund. The scholarship program encourages agronomy and horticulture students to pursue golf course management and supervision as a career. The program helps graduates find jobs and seeks to uplift the image of the profession.

  • CIF San Diego Section Girls and Boys Golf Championships
The CIF San Diego Section Girls and Boys Golf Championships annually crown the top individual and high school team golf champions for San Diego and Imperial Counties. CIF San Diego Section boys and girls champions have proven remarkably successful at the State CIF Golf Championships, and a number of former San Diego Section champions now compete on the PGA and WPGA tours.
